How to use the Pot Odds Calculator

Pot odds represent the ratio of the current size of the pot to the cost of a contemplated call. Knowing your pot odds is crucial for making mathematically profitable decisions in poker.

  • Current Pot Size: The total amount of money in the pot, including the bets placed in the current round.
  • Bet to Call: The amount you need to put into the pot to stay in the hand.

The required equity tells you how often your hand needs to win to break even. If your estimated chance of winning (hand equity) is higher than the required equity, calling is mathematically profitable (+EV) in the long run.
